THE DOCTORS GOAL

The goal of upper cervical spinal correction is to reposition the weight of the head over the center of the neck in order to remove brainstem compression and restore body alignment.This procedure corrects the position of the top vertebra of the spine—the Atlas. The spinal cord extends from the brainstem through the center of the Atlas. The brainstem consists of billions of nerve fibers that carry information to every part of the body. If the Atlas is off-center it can irritate, constrict or disrupt these vital nerve signals.

UPPER CERVICAL CARE AND CLOSED HEAD BRAIN INJURY

Trauma can force the skull off its axis with the neck. This means the head is no longer sitting squarely on the neck. This creates pressure on the brainstem and can result in a large variety of symptoms ranging from sleep problems and migraines to poor vision and muscle spasms.
